CO2 Fire Extinguishers
Carbon Dioxide extinguishers contain pressurized liquid carbon dioxide, which turns to gas when expelled. The main advantage of CO2 fire extinguishers is that the agent does not leave residue after use.
This may be of particular importance if the fire protection is needed in areas with sensitive electronic equipment. CO2 extinguishers are primarily effective on Class B or C fires. Some other typical applications are:
CO2 extinguishers should never be used in confined spaces as the gas reduces the amount of oxygen in the area
Carbon Dioxide Hand-held Fire Extinguishers
- Residue-free carbon dioxide gas extinguishing agent.
- Hand-held units use aluminum cylinders with a baked-on polyester enamel coating to withstand harsh environments.
- All units manufactured to ANSI/UL 154 and ANSI/UL 711 Standards and use DOT compliant cylinders.
- Plated brass valves on hand-held units.
TYPICAL USES: Refineries, shipboard, laboratories, construction sites, chemical plants, and manufacturing facilities.
